Mobile Onboard announce their new handheld ticket validator, the mTicketr HT9000

Mobile Onboard have updated their mTicketr hardware line up by announcing the launch of the new handheld ticket validator, the mTicketr HT9000.

The new rugged mTicketr HT9000 features a large responsive touchscreen that shares a new user interface with its big brother, the mTicketr ETM. The handheld validator gives operators the ability to quickly validate mobile tickets with QR codes either as passengers board or for on-the-spot checks of passengers’ tickets. Ideal where revenue protection is a priority such as driverless trams, school buses and commuter services using mobile ticketing. The handheld also provides  automatic and manual passenger counting. Passenger counting automatically updates each time a valid ticket is scanned. A feature that has proved very handy for transport operators on commuter routes where limited seats are available.

With a fast, built-in 2D barcode scanner the mTicketr HT9000 can scan QR codes on both mobile tickets and printed e-tickets for instant validation. Constant connectivity via bus Wi-Fi, such as Mobile Onboard’s Beam bus Wi-Fi systems, or by cellular data gives it access to the latest ticket data while providing near real-time data to back office reporting.
